Turismo Centro de Portugal presented yesterday, at BTL — Better Tourism Lisbon Travel Market, the new Move Centro Portugal – The Sports Region brand, a strategic project that brings together some of the region’s most emblematic sporting events, including MXGP Portugal 2026, the Portuguese round of the FIM Motocross World Championship.
The initiative aims to strengthen the positioning of the Centro Region as a territory of excellence for sports practice, training camps and major international competitions, highlighting its organizational capacity and the diversity of available infrastructures.
During the presentation, the Águeda Action Club — ACTIB, organizer of the event, represented by its president Tiago Silva, revealed details about the Portuguese round of the World Championship. The official promotional video of the event was also screened, featuring images of the competition and the host region.
Edson Santos, Vice President of the Águeda City Council, emphasized that this presentation represents “a strategic opportunity to position the municipality on the major international stages of motorsport,” consolidating its status as a destination prepared to host world-class events with significant tourism and media impact.
At the end of the session, ACTIB held a draw for 10 tickets to MXGP Portugal 2026, giving participants the chance to attend one of the most important events on the international motocross calendar.
The invitation is set: from June 26 to 28, 2026, the CIA — Crossódromo Internacional de Águeda will once again host the world’s motocross elite, in what will be the 10th round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship.
